Strawberry Season Questions
When does the strawberry season start?
Picking usually begins around Memorial Day weekend and runs for about 3 weeks, with the best picking the first couple weeks.
Do you provide containers for the strawberries?
Yes we have boxes to pick into and if you pick over ten pounds the box is free, otherwise you can buy the box for 50 cents or we can place them in a plastic bag for free.
Do you have any pre-picked strawberries?
Sometimes we have pre-picked on weekends but please call for availability.
How much are the strawberries?
Strawberries are $1.25 per pound (pick your own)

Catered Lodge Parties

What kind of parties do you have at the farm?
We have Weddings, company parties, reunions, birthday parties, mystery tours, quinceaneras , Christmas parties, dances, church outings and much more.
What kind of catering do you offer?
We specialize in BBQ meats and farm fresh salads, much of which is produced on the farm. We also feature many ethnic meals along with vegetarian dishes.
What all is included in a catered party?
Your group receives an all you can eat meal (two meats and three side dishes) complete with non-alcoholic beverages for the duration of the party, and the Lodge rental for six hours.
Does the Ranch provide alcoholic beverages?
Yes we can provide keg beer, frozen margaritas, wine and mixed drinks at an extra charge.
Can we bring in our own catering?
We only allow our own catering, but will allow you to bring in cake and non perishable food items.
How many hours do we get at the facility?
Your group will get the barn for six hours starting when your guests begin to arrive. Additional time can be arranged for $150 per extra hour, Ranch DJ $75 per extra hour and all parties must end at 1am.
Can we get married at the farm?
Absolutely we have three different ceremony areas and have even had ceremonies at our Pirates Cove area. Our picturesque and beautifully landscaped farm makes for a great backdrop for your wedding photos. There is no extra charge for the ceremony only that your time starts when the guests start to arrive.
Can we have a rehearsal dinner at the Ranch?
Yes, we offer rehearsal dinners on Thursday nights and sometimes Fridays.
Can we come before the party to take pictures?
Yes, the wedding party and family can use the facilities the day of the party with no extra charge. The 6 hour time allotment starts when your guests begin to arrive.
When can we come and decorate for our party?
The day of the party at 8am is when we tell people they can come decorate. The reason that the facilities aren’t open to decorate the days before is because we have to leave it open for other parties.
What kind of decorating can we do?
Anything that doesn’t damage the walls and materials of the buildings is ok (no nails, tacks, or tape that damages sheetrock). We do not allow any removal of our decorations and seating without our approval, and ask that you take any of your items that you wish to keep the night of the party. The Ranch also does not allow burning candles or helium balloons.
Can we bring in items to personalize our event?
Yes you can customize your event by renting round tables, tablecloths, glasses, plates, and silverware, and whatever else you desire. Please note that the Ranch can’t be held liable for any of these items, and some items require an extra charge if any labor is involved.
What activities can we do while our party is going?
The great part about the Ranch is that we have an outside area for each building where your group can enjoy a campfire and fresh air in the country. We also have play areas for the kids, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and hayrides are available.
How many lodges does the Ranch have to rent?
We have three lodges: the Western Barn, the Frontier Room, and the Hungry Moose Lodge.
What’s the seating capacity of your lodges?
The Western Barn seating capacity (150-350) with a guaranteed minimum of 200 on Sat nights.
The Frontier Room seating capacity (65-160)
The Hungry Moose seating capacity (65-160)
The Frontier Room and the Hungry Moose can be combined for a party over 200
What kind of music can we have at the Ranch?
We have two complete music systems with a Ranch DJ at a special rate, or you can bring in your own DJ, hire a band, or rent our DJ system.

How far in advance should we reserve the facility?
Usually weddings are reserved 6 months to a year in advance (especially Saturdays), check with us for availability. If you are flexible on the date or day we can usually accommodate those parties with a short notice. Ask about our Friday incentives.
What does it take to reserve a barn?
First check with us on availability, and then we ask that you fill out a contract and worksheet and also put a deposit down. The worksheet and contract can be found on the Catered Lodge Parties page and can be printed and sent to us with a deposit.
Can we schedule a time to look at the facilities?
Let us know when you can come out and we would be happy to show you the facilities. Check out our contacts page and give one of us a call.
Are your facilities handicap accessible?
Yes all the barns and bathrooms are wheelchair and handicap accessible.
Do you have plenty of parking?
We have plenty of parking next to each Lodge, please check at gate for directions to your parties’ barn.
What kind of deals do you have?
On Fridays we can have a smaller party of 150 in the Western Barn, also we are giving the parties a free round of frozen margaritas, or other frozen drink (roughly 8 gallons), a $150 value.
When is payment do for our party?
A non-refundable deposit is given when you reserve a building. The remainder of the balance will be paid by check one week prior to the party when a final headcount and menu is decided. If there are any extra changes, for example an extra keg of beer, or last minute appetizer, we will make a bill to be paid the night of the party.
What happens if we have to cancel?
Our contract states that we have a non-refundable deposit and more importantly that the balance of the agreed about party will be paid in full if the party is cancelled within 60 days of the scheduled date. The reason for this is we lose the ability to book another party on such short notice.

Festivals
What kind of festivals do you have at the Ranch?
The Nebraska Renaissance Faire (May 1-2)

Can we dress up for the festivals?
Absolutely, it makes it more fun, but not required.
Is there food at the events?
We have plenty of fun festival food and also a beer garden.
What can I expect to see and do at the festivals?
All sorts of fun things like costumes, accents and language, plays, entertainers, musicians, poets, artisans, goods, food, and an out of this world experience that will transcend you to a previous era.

Great Pumpkin Roundup daytime questions
When does the pumpkin season start?
The season kicks off the weekend of Sept 25-26.
Where are you located?
We are located in Papillion Nebraska, between Cornhusker Highway and Highway 370 on S. 48th St. Please check our directions page if you need further help.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and check. Visa and mastercard are accepted during seasonal activities.
What activities do you offer for general admission?
All of our activities are included with general admission, guests will receive a hayride to the pumpkin patch, use of our kids play area, Pirates Cove, barnyard petting zoo, a daytime walk thru of our Ranch of Terror Haunted House and Indian Caves (no live scares), our ghost town and corn maize walks, and much more. The only added cost to admission is for pumpkins, food, snacks, campfires, and other goodies from the harvest barn.
Can we rent our own campfire?
Yes we have over 25 fire pits and can accommodate any size group. The campfire pits are $25 and can sit up to 50 people per pit. To rent a fire pit we require a $150 deposit with the remainder of the money going to admission prices for the group. Please note there is a $150 minimum and all members of the group must purchase an admission ticket. The group can bring their own food in these areas and hot dog sticks and firewood are provided.
Are there any activities that are too scary for young kids?
Although there are no live scares during the daytime the Ranch of Terror is not recommended for little kids, then again some kids love this part of the farm.
Do you have food at the Ranch?
During the weekends we have Cowboy Ed’s famous BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, sides and drinks. During the weekdays we generally have hotdogs and hamburgers along with drinks and sides.
Do you offer group discounts?
We offer discounted rates for groups of 15 or more on Tuesday-Thursday nights for $6 per person.
What do you offer for school groups?
For $6 per child the kids receive a hayride, coloring book, small pumpkin and complete access to all our activities, and lunch facilities. Title one schools receive $1 off.
How do we make a reservation for our group outing?
We start taking reservations about a month in advance, just give us a call or stop out, and depending on what type of event and group you have well go from there.
What are the hours?
Mondays- closed except Columbus day
Tues-Thursday- 10am till 8pm
Fri- Saturday- 10am till 6pm (daytime) 6pm-11pm (nighttime)
Sundays- 10am till 6pm (daytime) 6pm-10pm (nighttime)
How much are pumpkins?
Our pumpkins are price by the diameter, anywhere in the range of $1.50 for the smallest to $6 for the largest pumpkin.
Why should we visit your farm?
We have a great pumpkin farm with over 25 acres of pumpkins, the best hayride around maybe anywhere, and a ton of haunting stuff to discover. Our farm is less stress and less waiting than the other pumpkin farms and not to mention a lot less expensive.
Do you offer refunds?
No we don’t give refunds but we will reschedule your group if it rains.

The Ranch of Terror nighttime questions
How much are the nighttime activities?
Haunted Hayrides $10 per person
The Ranch of Terror $10 per person
Combo ticket $ 18 per person
What are the hours?
Fri- Saturday 6pm-11pm
Sunday 6pm-10pm
How long do the activities take?
The hayride takes about 30 minutes,
The Ranch of Terror takes about 45 minutes
How scary are the nighttime haunts?
The Hayride is the less scary of the activities and is suitable for kids but can be scary at times.
The Ranch of Terror comprises of a Haunted House, Indian Caves, Ghost Town walk and Corn Maize, and yes it is scary.
